ABOUT IHRTP

Competitive research environments call for competitive skills.

The Integrated Health Research Training Partnership (IHRTP) responds to the need for research skills beyond what is offered in traditional academia.

The IHRTP was initiated in May 2006 with the generous support of the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation. It is a collaborative partnership among Capital Health, the IWK Health Centre, and Dalhousie University Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Professions. The Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation is an additional partner. The IHRTP shares and coordinates the educational opportunities offered by each.

Vision
The IHRTP will propel our region to that of a global leader in the training of health researchers. Our researchers are the most professional and well-prepared in the world.

Goals

  • The "professionalization" of our trainees, increased support for new faculty and the research community.
  • The IHRTP offers workshops, research days, and special symposia that will focus on skills development, mentoring, knowledge translation, and social accountability.

Please explore our site further to learn about new collaborative opportunities and upcoming inter-professional events connecting the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Professions, Capital Health, and IWK Health Centre.
